Introducing Jasper Chiropractor Dr. Joshua Boshell

Jasper Chiropractor, Dr. Joshua BoshellI've experienced chiropractic care literally since the day that I was born.

I grew up in a chiropractic family with my father being the first chiropractor.  He adjusted me the day that I was born because he knew that spinal misalignments (or subluxation) could occur from the birthing process itself.  I have been under regular chiropractic care from that day forward;  I have never been vaccinated and rarely have a need to visit a medical doctor.  I am currently the fifth chiropractor in the family, following my brother, sister, and sister-in-law in my father's footsteps.  I saw at an early age the amazing things that could happen through chiropractic care.  Whether I was playing in the office as a child or later working in the office as a teenager, I saw many chiropractic success stories first hand and knew that I wanted to be a chiropractor myself.

While working in the office during my high school years, I was the youngest person in Alabama to become a certified Chiropractic Radiologic Technician.  I began my chiropractic college prerequisites while still attending Curry High School.  I graduated from BSCC-Walker College with an Associate in Science degree.  I moved to St. Louis, Missouri to attend Logan College of Chiropractic.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology degree and completed my Doctor of Chiropractic degree upon completion of a preceptorship in Gadsden, Alabama in December, 2003.

Growing up with chiropractic, I thought I would be a step ahead of everyone else but I soon realized I had just as much to learn as the next person.  It all started with gross anatomy and neuroanatomy as we literally learned about every part of the body and studied it in detail.  I'm still amazed at how God put all the pieces together to work in perfect unison.

My lasting purpose is to help you and your family achieve optimal health.  I know that God does the healing, but uses me as a tool to restore the body back to the way He intended.  I also know that information and education are the keys to chiropractic and good health.  Educated and well-informed patients are truly the healthiest!  I strive to provide everyone with the best care possible.  If I don't feel that your's is a chiropractic case, then I'll refer you to someone that I believe can help.  One of the greatest aspects of my job as a chiropractor is seeing people get well.  Whether it's a child who was chronically sick and now happy again or a grandparent who can play with their grandkids in the floor, it's always exciting to see patients reach their health goals!

I met my wife, Amy, in the early days of high school where we became good friends.  Although we stayed closely in touch during our time in school, it wasn't until a while after I moved back from St. Louis that we started dating.  We were married in September of 2006 and two months later found out that God had blessed us with what would be a bouncing baby boy...Taylor Ray Boshell...who, by the way, was adjusted the day he was born.

As I said earlier, I'm still under regular chiropractic care, which for me is at least every other week and sometimes more often.  I try my best to live what I teach, including eating as healthy as possible in this day and age while still occasionally enjoying some of mom's chocolate cake.  My family also gets adjusted.  Amy was adjusted throughout her pregnancy.  As well as not being vaccinated himself, Taylor gets adjusted at least once a week just to keep everything going through all his baby activities.

I'm glad you've taken a moment to look through our website.  I hope that you'll give us an opportunity to serve you and answer any questions you might have.  Give our office a call, or email me using the link below and let's arrange time to explore your health options and goals.  I look forward to meeting you!

Dr. Josh Asks some important questions of interest to Jasper residents - Chiropractor Jasper Dr. Josh Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
What's the difference between chiropractic and medicine?
Medical treatment focuses on the disease or the symptom. Chiropractic focuses on the person with the disease or the symptom. Medical treatment usually involves changing blood chemistry. Chiropractic involves restoring nervous system integrity. Medical doctors prescribe medicine. Chiropractors adjust the spine—a common source of nervous system interference.
